Review of Raclette NYC

Review of Raclette NYC

The Raclette NYC, located at 511 E 12th Street, is definitely a restaurant you should add to your bucket list of restaurants to visit while in New York City!

I made the reservation a month in advance, since we would be visiting during Mother’s Day weekend. Making a reservation is a “must”, because the place can get packed and they don’t have a lot of tables. Our reservation was for 6:15 and we were seated at 6:15! I love service like this, because there’s nothing like making a reservation and still having to wait an additional 20-30 minutes! So, this was a plus!

The server was very friendly and explained everything on the menu – we ended up ordering the Parisienne (marinated skirt steak, sauteed mushrooms, asparagus, and potatoes) the Burger (sirloin patty with caramelized onions), and the Mediterranee (roasted asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and baguettes).

Since we ordered from the Raclettes, we each got to pick a cheese to top our dishes. My girls chose the Classic Thermalized for the Burger and the Mediterranee. My girls are 12 and 14, so they played it safe by choosing the Classic Thermalized. And for the Parisienne, my husband chose the Potato and I chose the Onion. I chose the Onion, because I was having the marinated skirt steak, so I figured what would be a better topping than onions. And boy was I correct, it was definitely an excellent choice!

The cheese show was just like we expected, after watching numerous videos on Facebook and Instagram. They definitely give you more than enough cheese to enjoy with your meal.

The Parisienne was very tasty. The skirt steak is tender, marinated, and well seasoned. The potatoes were also quite tasty. And, if you’re a fan of asparagus, like I am, they were cooked to perfection!

… and then there was dessert

After dinner, we ordered two of their banana cheesecakes … I must say, they were also very good!

On a scale from 1 to 10, I would definitely give the Raclette a 10. Their service is exceptional and their food is phenomenal! I look forward to visiting them again in the summer!

St Patty’s Day Festival at Laurita Winery in New Egypt, New Jersey

It’s always a good time, whenever the family gets together and heads over to Laurita’s for one of their many festivals throughout the year! This festival was both the Winterfest and St Patty’s Day festival combined. They had the fire pits going, the band playing … it was just a good ole time!

This year’s festival had ice sculptures on display, wolf dogs from Howling Woods Farms in Jackson, New Jersey, and about a dozen food trucks to satisfy all of your food cravings!

The girls and I grabbed a couple of 9″ artisan pizzas from the Red Pizza Express and my husband opted for a couple of empanadas from the Empanada Guy. We were all pretty satisfied with our selections. After our meals, we headed over to the House of Cupcakes dessert truck to satisfy our sugar cravings!

These cupcakes from the House of Cupcakes in Princeton, New Jersey get two thumbs up from us! We tried the peanut butter cup, cookie dough, chocolate rage, and the cookies and cream cupcakes! Delicious!

We ended up not staying too long, it was too cold for the girls. But, it was great to get out and check everything out!

And, what do you know? Two of my favorites are up next and the weather should be much more bearable by then, so we’ll be able to really walk the grounds of Laurita’s and experience all that they have to offer!

I’d Rather Be … in Bushkill Falls, Pennsylvania!

I’d Rather Be…

Sitting on the edge of my bed and thinking to myself how much I’d rather be hiking along one of the many trails of Bushkill Falls in Pennsylvania. Stopping every so often to take in the sights and to listen to the waterfalls … wow, this place is so beautiful and peaceful! I’m speechless, at the moment, so I’m going to let the photos that I took last year in May speak for me tonight! 😊
